Psalm 84:4-11 “Blessed are those whose strength is in your house; they are ever praising You.”
That’s where we love to be – securely in God’s house, enjoying His presence and the fellowship of His family- but we are not called to a cloistered life…
“Blessed are those whose strength is in You, who have set their heats on pilgrimage. (AMP in whose heart are the highways of Zion)”
This verse is talking about people who are going places. God promises that, even if some of those places are difficult and trying (valley of Baca – ie. weeping v6), we can find victory, go from ‘strength to strength’ (v7), and find ‘His favour and annointing’ (v9).
Always remember though, that our strength is found and restored as we are found in His presence, ever praising Him.

Psalm 115:12-18 “The Lord has been mindful of us, He will bless us: He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron [the priesthood], He will bless those who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord, both small and great. May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children. May you be blessed of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth! The heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth has He given to the children of men. The dead praise not the Lord, neither any who go down into silence. But we will bless (affectionately and gratefully praise) the Lord from this time forth and forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)”
How amazing that the Lord of all Heaven has been mindful of us- that he stooped down to touch us and get us started on this great journey! Thankfully, though, it doesn’t stop there. These verses say He has and He will! The blessing is ongoing throughout our whole life and then overflows to the next generation, (v14) and what’s more, it increases!
Let us, in response, be those who have the will to bless and affectionately praise Him for his ongoing love and favour.

Every day we hear about new research projects or trials of new treatments, all hoping for a breakthrough in one area or another. However, I love what Proverbs 30:5 says:
” Every word of God is tried and purified/tested; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.”
What a great comfort as we go into the future of new projects, new outreaches, new positions of influence – that God’s word has already been tested and proven by millions of believers before us! We can walk forward into our future with confidence and faith that God’s Word is sure and pure and that He himself, will shield and protect us from any unforeseen adversities and adversaries.
Let’s put our trust in Him and His proven Word.

Prov 22: 6(NIV) “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
This verse speaks of the vision we have for our children. I once heard a well known Preacher misquote this verse as ‘train up a child in the way you want him to go….” and while we may not actually verbalize it, we so easily fall into the trap of pushing our children towards a future of our choosing rather than God’s! While there are Godly values and attributes that we would seek to instil in all those who come under our influence, only God knows their individual gifts, talents and destiny. Our job is to raise children (and influence them if not our own children) to grow up knowing and loving God and finding His will and purpose for their lives. I love how the Amplified Bible expounds the meaning of this verse. “Train up a child in the way he should go (and in keeping with his individual gift or bent), and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Let’s have a vision for a Church full of young people who are pursuing God’s destiny for their lives – realizing that it is never too late for us older ‘children’ to discover our God-given destiny if we haven’t already!
