Agreeing with God

Amos 3:3 Do two people walk hand in hand if they aren’t going to the same place? Or in another Bible version…

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

This verse talks about the need for a common purpose, a shared goal of two people on a journey together. As we do the journey of life with God, it’s a great reminder that to have a successful life with Him we need to continually make sure we are ‘on the same page.’

Agreeing with God is about allowing His truth and wisdom to affect every part of our life, our thinking our believing, and our actions, so that there’s a unity, a oneness, so that two can work and walk together.

The Bible tells us to let our relationship with God mould us into who we were created to be, not to be moulded by the world and its culture.

Rom 12:2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Let’s practice agreeing with God! Letting go of the things that don’t fit into our new life with Him, and choosing to think the way His word teaches us to.

Let’s believe for transformation in our lives as we let God’s word change us from the inside out.
