Phil 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT)
Many of us have read and/or heard this verse before. However, it’s not a nice suggestion from God. He is telling us the way to peace. In a world spiralling without peace, we fall into the same trap when we forget to ‘tell God what we need’. Some Christians are hesitant, saying things like ‘God doesn’t want to hear your spiritual shopping list’. Although the sentiment is nice, it’s not Biblical! God says he wants to hear from us about everything – especially the things we can’t figure out (ie. the things producing the worry!).
Bring IT ALL to God, then we can walk in His peace. The longer we hold on to our stuff, thinking we are helping God out, the less space for His peace to guard our hearts.
Stop, right now! Take just a minute to talk to God, tell Him what you need.
Then you can move on with your day, knowing God’s peace is taking care of your life.
Go in peace!
