“..in my Father’s house”

Happy Father’s Day – at metrochurch we like to take the opportunity to honour all Men on this day! Special mention to all the Dads of metrochurch who love and care for their children, following God’s example of Love for us.

Luke 2:49-50  – “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.”

Despite Mary’s angelic visitation and immaculate conception, the relationship that Jesus had with his heavenly Father was confusing and misunderstood, even by those who were closest to Him. In Jesus’ mind, it was required (he had to be)….in His Father’s house. Jesus was well aware that He was simply visiting this earthly life and He really belonged with the Father. God doesn’t just call us to ‘live well’, he calls us to Himself! Our highest calling will always be our relationship with our heavenly Father. This so confused the people in Jesus’ world, He was constantly puzzling them by the way He lived – always outworking the relationship with the Father rather than responding to what was around Him. I certainly want to live like this! Regardless of what is going on in my earthly life, I want to see and hear what the Father wants and live out of that. After all, I’m just visiting this earth…

We are believing that we will have a revelation of what the Father wants for our lives.
