Jud 6:14-15 “Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you? So he said to Him, ‘O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.’ “
How many times, like me, have you prayed a dangerous prayer? Prayers like ‘Use me Lord – let me fulfil your purpose in my life!’, ‘Send me Lord, I will go’, ‘I will go anywhere, I will do anything’. The kind of prayers that you pray and then cover your mouth saying ‘I can’t believe I just said that!’ I love how God certainly has a sense of humour and that He listens to not just these, but all our prayers. And then, in every part of our humanity, when he actually shows up – we freak out! We start making excuses as to why we can’t or why we shouldn’t. We start to define what we actually meant when we prayed that prayer – and explain to God that maybe He has it a little skewed. I love how even in Gideon’s life, when an actual Angel appeared before him and spoke to him, he still didn’t believe what was being said – makes me feel a little better about myself and how I respond to God.
We are believing with you that as you pray and seek God’s face that His divine purpose for your life will be revealed to you and you will embrace it with open arms. Even when it all seems a little scary – remember that God will give you nothing you can’t handle and maybe, just maybe, it is an answer to a prayer you prayed and then covered you mouth!
