Proverbs 21:23 Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles. (NKJV)
Have you ever found yourself saying something you know is not good? Wishing you could take it back? You, if only in your mind are reaching out with your hand to grab it and shove it down your throat, wishing no one else heard it. Then you berate yourself for shooting your mouth off again. Part of the answer is to pull yourself up even if it is half way out and rejoice because you have begun a whole new discipline, the controlling of the tongue. The more you do it the stronger you become.
Said another way in the Message Bible, ‘Watch your words and hold your tongue; you’ll save yourself a lot of grief.’
A wise man once told me, vision leaks. Let’s not have it leak out of our mouths as a result of poor discipline.
We are believing: That vision comes out of our mouth so we can remain strong for God’s purpose!
